Testing

All MSc in Management applicants are required to complete either:
  • An entrance exam (either the GMAT or GRE) and a language exam (either the TOFEL  or IELTS) indicating a strong result
    OR
  • The Nyenrode Admissions Test (includes language testing) indicating a strong result

The particulars of each option is outlined below. Please note that none of the options are favored by Nyenrode: select the best option based on your preference and location. However, please be aware that the Nyenrode Admissions Test often has less waiting times than the GMAT or GRE for arranging a testing time. However, you have to live or be able to come to the Netherlands if you wish to do the Nyenrode Admissions Test.

About the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT)
The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is a computerized examination created and administered by the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC). It is accepted by virtually every quality business school in the world. The GMAT measures language, writing skills and quantitative abilities and is intended to indicate a person’s potential as a participant of graduate management education.
  • Cost: The cost of the GMAT is $250US payable to GMAC at time of registration.
    Testing location:  Worldwide. Due to high testing volume, some testing locations may not be able to offer you a test date immediately, so it is advised to schedule your exam as soon as possible. 
  • Submission of results: Score reports must be sent to the MBA Admissions Office directly from Pearson VUE. To facilitate the receipt of your score reports, please fill in the code for Nyenrode Business Universiteit on the GMAT registration form. The GMAT code for the Msc in Management  is W21-2K-08. If you took the test in a previous year, you should also request for your score report to be sent directly to Nyenrode under its respective code. You should allow four weeks for test scores to arrive at the Admissions Office.
  • To register: The GMAT Bulletin of Information, which includes registration materials and all other up-to-date information concerning the test can be obtained online via www.gmac.com
About the Graduate Record Examination – GRE revised General Test (GRE)
The Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) is administered by the Educational Testing Service (ETS) and is accepted by many quality business schools worldwide.  There are both computer-based and paper-based exam options available. The GRE measures verbal and quantitative reasoning, as well as writing and critical thinking skills.
  • Cost: $160US payable to GRE.
  • Testing location: Worldwide locations available.
    Submission of results: Score reports must be sent to the MBA Admissions Office directly from Educational Testing Service (ETS). To facilitate the receipt of your score reports, please fill in the code for Nyenrode Business Universiteit on the GRE registration form. The GRE code for the MSc in Management is 9202. Please note that a strong application to the program will include a GMAT score report indicating a score of at least 600 or a GRE revised General Test score report with an equivalent score. About the TOEFL & IELTS
If you choose to do the GMAT or GRE, you must also then complete a TOEFL or IELTS exam. For those who are taking the Nyenrode Admission Test, you do not have to take the TOEFL or IELTS. Note that a strong application to the program will include an original score report indicating the following scores:
  • TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language)
    Internet-based – 90 or higher
    • Your TOEFL test results should be sent to Nyenrode Business Universiteit directly by the testing organization. The Nyenrode institutional code for the TOEFL is 9202. Information and registration materials for the TOEFL can be obtained online via http://www.ets.org/toefl
  • IELTS (International English Language Testing system)
    Overall band – 6.5
    • You may request your IELTS score to be sent directly to Nyenrode. Information and registration materials for the TOEFL can be obtained online via www.ielts.org.

About the Nyenrode Admission Test

The Nyenrode Admission Test, also known as the LTP, is an exam that will test your numerical, arithmetic and logical reasoning capacities, and includes personality testing and language testing components. It is used by a variety of organizations and businesses.

  • Cost: The cost of the Nyenrode Admission Test is €100 for MSc in Management candidates, payable to Nyenrode.
  • Testing location: The Netherlands. This test must be taken in person at the LTP testing office location in Amstelveen on the scheduled group testing dates (see below) or can be arranged at an alternative time at Nyenrode in Breukelen.
  • Submission of results: The results are immediately available to Nyenrode and do not require any action by you.
  • To register:  Submit your compete application package (click here for details) prior to doing the Nyenrode Admissions Test. Once your application has been screened, qualified candidates will be invited to complete a scheduled Nyenrode Admissions Test. Please note that testing dates depend on which application deadline you apply by.The testing dates must follow the pre-scheduled interview date, as indicated below. Please take these dates into account when applying.
    • February 1, 2012 – first application deadline 
      • Interview date: February 23, 2012
      • Nyenrode Admission Test date: February 10, 2012
    • April 20, 2012 – second application deadline
      • Interview date: May 10, 2012
      • Nyenrode Admission Test date: April 27, 2012
    • June 18, 2012 – final application deadline
      • Interview date: July 12, 2012
      • Nyenrode Admission Test date: June 29, 2012
