ECI Study: Simple Pension System could Promote Chinese Consumption
Creating a simple pension system could increase the currently low level of consumption in China. The security that a pension brings makes it unnecessary to save a large amount of income, thereby releasing financial resources for consumer purposes. This is the conclusion of researchers at Nyenrode's Europe China Institute, based on the results of the latest measurement of the China Structural Development Monitor (CSDM). The monitor is sampled four times per year for pension executor and asset management corporation Mn Services. Click here to read more (in Dutch)

Study shows how extra CO2 reduction could boost employment and growth in Europe
Increasing the EU's 2020 greenhouse gas reduction target from 20% to 30% could help boost European investments, leading to a GDP increase of € 620 billion and the creation of 6 million additional jobs by 2020. These are the key findings of the study "A New Growth Path for Europe. Generating Prosperity and Jobs in the Low-Carbon Economy", launched on 21 February in Brussels. Roland Kupers, senior lecturer at Nyenrode, was one of the authors of this study. It was commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety.
