Prof. Dr. Lidewey van der Sluis

​Lidewey van der Sluis is Professor of Strategic Talent Management at Nyenrode Business Universiteit. She is the founder and academic leader of the Powerhouse Competing for Talent as being the global network of business and academics leaders in the field of Strategic Talent Management as drivers of International Thought Leadership in  this area. Via the Powerhouse she builds, shares and valorizes new insights and leading edge knowledge in the area of the contest for talented people on the labor market. The main activities of the powerhouse are research and education that are both partly funded by business partners and the community network.

Lidewey teaches bachelor, master, and post-graduate courses in the field of Human Resource Management (HRM), with a focus on Talent Management and Management Development (MD). She has been published in several international journals and books, e.g. Small Business Economics, Human Resource Development Quarterly, Management Learning, The International Journal of Human Resource Management, Career Development International, Journal of Management Development, and Journal of Workplace Learning. Besides, she has continuous academic and media exposure at conferences and in national journals and newspapers.

Next to many other additional activities, she is the chair and president of the BBV, the professional community in the field of Human Resource Development and Lifelong Learning.
Lidewey is an experienced strategic business consultant and a frequent speaker in the field of Human Resource Development and Talent Management.

Lidewey received a Msc degree in Business Economics from the University of Amsterdam (UvA) in 1995. After graduation she has been working as a management consultant at Schoonbeek Advies and as a lecturer at the Department of Strategic Management and Marketing of the UvA. From 1998 until 1999, she was employed as a research officer at the Department of Organizational Behavior at the London Business School. In 2000 she earned a Tinbergen PhD degree from Erasmus University Rotterdam. In the same year, she received a grant from the Dutch Foundation for Corporate Education to stimulate her research activities in the area of employee learning and development.
