Ruud Vergoossen is Professor of External Reporting at the Center for Financial Accounting & Reporting of Nyenrode Business Universiteit. Since 1999 he has been Professor of International Financial Accounting at Maastricht University.
Ruud is head of the Professional Expertise Office at BDO CampsObers. Previously he was director of the Royal Dutch Institute of Registeraccountants (NIVRA) and chairman of the Professional Expertise Board at Ernst & Young Accountants.
Ruud has published a substantial number of international publications and is an active member of various professional expertise committees within Royal NIVRA. He is also an editor of Management Control & Accounting and Maandblad voor Accountancy en Bedrijfseconomie.
He studied Business Economics at Erasmus University Rotterdam, after which he went on to do a Master’s in Public Accounting at VU University Amsterdam. In 1994 he obtained his doctorate with a thesis on ‘Accounting Changes and the Use of Financial Statements: A Study among Investment Analysts’.
