Dr. Robert J.M. Beeres (1968) is an associate professor in Financial Accounting at Nyenrode Business Universiteit.
He studied Business Economics at the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen. In 2001 he obtained his doctorate at the Radboud Universiteit Nijmegen. His dissertation is titled “Between insight and comparability. A systems perspective on the harmonisation strategy of the IASC.”

Robert Beeres also holds the position of associate professor Accounting & Control at the Netherlands Defence Academy, Breda, the Netherlands.

At the Nyenrode School of Accountancy & Controlling he is chairman of the work group Financial Accounting Theory. Furthermore, he is a member of the committee responsible for the progress and the quality of the bachelor theses and of the work group concerned with the research course in the field of Financial Reporting. He lectures on Financial Accounting & Reporting and Methodology and he is supervisor of master theses for the Master of Science in Controlling.
