Fabozzi, Professor Finance at Yale School of Management and Dennis Vink, Associate Professor Finance and Risk Management at Nyenrode Business Universiteit investigated the generally assumed over-reliance on credit ratings exhibited by investors. They argue there is every reason to suspect that the notion of pure reliance on assigned ratings which has often been popularized in the market may well be overstated.
