The library collection includes books, journals, company annual reports, reference books, videos and theses written by students as part of their degree requirements (so-called scripties). Material leaving the library always has to be put on your name, so have it registered at the Information Desk.
Books may be borrowed. Journals, videos and theses can be referred to in the library, they may not be borrowed. Theses will be put on your name, but it is not allowed to make copies of them or to take them to the computer room. Reference books and annual reports can be taken to the computer room of the library for a few hours, but they always have to be registered in your name at the Information Desk and cannot just be taken out.
To borrow from the library you must show your integrated student card/library card. If you lose your student card you should apply for a new one at the Service Desk or Student Affairs. A fee will be charged. REMEMBER you cannot borrow books without it!
Students and staff at Nyenrode may borrow up to 10 books for a period of four weeks.
You can ask for an extension on your borrowing time. This will be registered unless someone else has reserved the book. In which case the book must be returned immediately. On the rather rare occasions that the library staff asks you to return the books before the expiry date you are expected to comply as soon as possible.
You are responsible for the books you borrow and should ensure that they are returned on time. Returning books by post is at your own risk. Should you inadvertently lose any books please report the loss to the librarian immediately; you will be charged for replacing the book(s).
You are not allowed to lend library books registered in your name to others. Do not allow others to use your integrated student card/library card. (You will be charged the fines incurred in your name!).
You must inform us of any change of address or (temporary) absenteeism from Nyenrode.
You will receive a reminder if you exceed the borrowing time on each book. Within a week of the expiry date you will receive the first reminder, the second one a week later and the third one two weeks later. The overdue fines are posted on the website of the library (see tariffs).
In your own interest don’t let the fines get out of hand. Once you have returned your books, you can borrow some more.
Non-receipt or delayed receipt of reminders does not exempt you from fines incurred.
Fines should be paid by PIN or Chippas at the lending desk. At the end of each term you will receive a bill for fines outstanding which should be settled with the Financial Department.
PHOTOCOPY FACILITIES
Photocopy facilities are available. It is a condition for using reference copies of student reports that they may not be copied. In all other cases normal copyright restrictions apply.

Charges brought by the supplying library will be passed on (see the list of library tariffs posted on the library website).
