During the Dies Natalis on November 20, 2018, Peter Bakker – President and CEO of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) – urged the business community to take on a leading role and secure a sustainable future for all. He believes we are entering a period of unprecedented transformation. On January 18, 2019, Nyenrode hosted a conference that fit in perfectly with this topic: 'Corporate responsibility in relation to climate change'. International firms, investment managers, insurers, human rights organizations and climate groups came together to address the key question: how can my business take responsibility for future generations?

“We’ll see you tomorrow for the start of the assignment in London.” With these surprising words, Dr. Frank van Eekeren, lecturer in the Nyenrode Sports Leadership Program, concluded his lecture in Breukelen last Monday and gave the participants their first assignment. At 8:00 the next morning, the participants were standing at the Olympic London Stadium in Stratford to begin working on their case study.

On October 20th, students from Nyenrode Business Universiteit marked the university’s arrival in Amsterdam by sounding the gong to open the trading day at the AEX. They were accompanied by Jessica Peters-Hondelink, location director of Nyenrode Amsterdam.

Ruud Huirne has been appointed new core lecturer for the Global Food Economy module, part of the Modular MBA in Food & Innovation. Program director Henk Kievit is pleased about the appointment: “We are proud that Ruud Huirne is core lecturer for this module. With his broad background, experience and vision, he brings a great deal that participants can learn from.” Huirne is director Food & Agri at Rabobank and is convinced that the Netherlands can play an important role in the global food economy.
