After an absence of more than 80 years, one of Nyenrode’s old bells has returned to the castle. The bell was once part of the bell ensemble that the lord of the castle, Michiel Onnes, had installed in the lantern on the onion-shaped tower in 1916. The purchase has been made partly possible with a donation from the Nyenrode community, facilitated by Stichting Nyenrode Fonds (Nyenrode Fund). Remmelt Vetkamp, vice-chairman of the University Board, accepted the bell on behalf of the university last February 7.

Maybe you fell for it; maybe you spotted it immediately. Of course, it sounds fantastic to be able to imagine yourself just for once as the lord or lady of a castle. But the castle of Nyenrode is not becoming a tourist attraction.

We have great news for everyone who has ever dreamt of being a lord or lady of the castle for a weekend or midweek! As of spring 2021, it will be possible to book a room at Nyenrode castle at the river Vecht in Breukelen. The revenue will go entirely to the renovation of the foundation of the 750-year-old monument.

The English-language edition of last year’s book “Nijenrode als inspiratiebron voor kunst” is now available for purchase.

The Nyenrode Fund will receive € 110,181.10 from the Province of Utrecht for the restoration of the garden wall and kitchen garden of the monumental Vegetable Garden complex at the estate.

Because of its 50th anniversary, Fraternity Luctor wanted to do something very special on a location that has a special meaning to them. The renovation of the Orangery became their ambition.

On Saturday, October 7th, 2017, Nyenrode Fund (Stichting Nyenrode Fonds or SNF) held its annual Thank The Donor Day. The fund organizes this event each year to pay tribute to its donors. Nine students also received the checks for their scholarships, awarded in celebratory fashion by representatives of the donors who made the scholarships possible.
