PhD- student in Bayesian Statistics for Auditing
Nyenrode Business Universiteit is seeking a full-time PhD-student with research interests relevant to the field of auditing and assurance.
The PhD-student will join the Center for Accounting, Auditing & Control, and will work under the supervision of prof.dr. Ruud Wetzels and prof. dr. Jacques de Swart. The goal of the PhD is to improve (Bayesian) data scientific methods for responsible AI, financial reporting, and beyond. To maximise impact in the auditing community, the student will implement these methods in the open source software JASP.
This fulltime PhD position involves research, teaching, and contributing to the academic community. The teaching responsibilities will include teaching data scientific courses, grading, and thesis supervision. The PhD-student is expected meet the registration requirements of the Nyenrode PhD-school and attend several PhD-courses that provide them with key skills and knowledge required for your academic progress.

Successful candidates ideally have:
- MSc in Accountancy, Accounting, Data Science, Statistics, or Econometrics.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, preferably knowledge of Bayesian statistics.
- Motivation to contribute to teaching in graduate courses.
- Enthusiasm, team skills and good verbal and written communication skills in English.
Application & Terms of Employment:
- Initial appointment will be for 4 years.
- Gross salary will be between € 2.766, - and € 3.708,- per month (scale 8)
