In a repeat to last year’s achievement, the Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Business Administration has once again been rated as the best program in the Netherlands in the category of International Business in the “Keuzegids Universiteiten 2019” (a selection guide for universities). The program far outperformed all other bachelor programs in the Economics & Business sector of the guide. With an overall score of 94 points out of 100, the BSc in Business Administration is the only program in the International Business category to earn the designation of “top program”, even tying for second place among all bachelor programs in the Netherlands.

Entrepreneurial finance is a fast-growing phenomenon in this day and age. New forms of financing are developing at a rapid pace with the changing European economy and the increasing number of startups and scale-ups. What is lagging behind in these developments is the literature. Until now, that is. The book “Entrepreneurial Finance: The Art and Science of Growing Ventures” is a new standard work, textbook and research book all in one, drawing enthusiastic responses from numerous students, lecturers and critics.

On October 18, students from the Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA) at Nyenrode Business Universiteit celebrated the successful completion of their final – and favorite – course in the program: a competitive simulation that provides the ultimate link between theory and practice.

‘In the past sports governance didn’t appeal to me all that much,’ says Esther Vergeer. The seven-time Paralympic tennis champion brought her sports career to an end in 2013, after topping the world rankings in wheelchair tennis for an unbroken run of 14 years. But she hasn’t been taking it easy since then. Besides her involvement in the Esther Vergeer Foundation, which she set up in 2004, she has been tournament director of the AMRO World Wheelchair Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam.

Once a year, the BBA students from Nyenrode Business Universiteit Amsterdam visit India and are the guests of the Round Table India members. On May 30 members of the Round Table India were invited to come to Nyenrode in Amsterdam. At the end of the event a cheque was handed to the present representatives of the Round Table India.

“We’ll see you tomorrow for the start of the assignment in London.” With these surprising words, Dr. Frank van Eekeren, lecturer in the Nyenrode Sports Leadership Program, concluded his lecture in Breukelen last Monday and gave the participants their first assignment. At 8:00 the next morning, the participants were standing at the Olympic London Stadium in Stratford to begin working on their case study.

Insight into Electronic Health Record (EHR) workarounds can help healthcare organizations to increase patient safety as well as the quality and efficiency of care. In order to achieve this, the entire care provision system must be included. This is one of the conclusions reached by Dr. Vincent Blijleven in his dissertation titled “A Sociotechnical Perspective on Workarounds Emerging from Electronic Health Record System Usage in an Academic Hospital Setting”, for which he received his doctorate from Nyenrode Business Universiteit on Wednesday March 28, 2018.
