Dr. Çiğdem Vural Yavaş

Dr. Çiğdem Vural Yavaş is an Assistant Professor of finance at Nyenrode Business Universiteit. She is part of Nyenrode's Faculty Research Center for Corporate Reporting, Finance & Tax. She teaches across the BSc and MSc programs and also serves as the Thesis Coordinator for the CRFT.  Vural Yavaş  explores how corporate decisions are shaped by uncertainty, with a focus on governance and sustainable finance.

Her work has been published in leading academic journals such as the Journal of Business Ethics, the Journal of Environmental Management, the International Journal of Finance & Economics, and the Journal of Multinational Financial Management.

Vural Yavaş holds a Ph.D. in Finance from Boğaziçi University and an M.Sc. in Financial Mathematics from Middle East Technical University. Prior to joining Nyenrode Business Universiteit, she served as an Assistant Professor of Finance at Kadir Has University in Istanbul and worked at the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK).

Vural Yavaş participates at international conferences and co-authors papers with researchers from universities worldwide.

Interests

Vural Yavaş enjoys travelling and exploring new places, hiking, playing tennis, and cooking dishes from different cultures.
