Biography

Dr. Matthijs Breugem is an Associate Professor at the Center for Corporate Reporting, Finance & Tax. He teaches courses in Asset Pricing, Corporate Finance, and other related subjects. His research primarily focuses on Asset Pricing and Corporate Finance.
Breugem gains the most energy from teaching professionals from the business world, as he learns a great deal from their experiences within the context of his field.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Applied Physics from Delft University of Technology and a master’s degree in Economics from the Sorbonne (Paris) and Ca’ Foscari University (Venice), as well as a PhD from INSEAD.

Before joining Nyenrode, Breugem taught at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, Collegio Carlo Alberto, and the University of Turin. In addition, he has provided applied financial education to professionals in the automotive industry in France and India.
