Biography

I’m curious by default, and stubborn about impact.

Erlangga Sunaryo is a PhD researcher at the Center for Marketing & Supply Chain Management. He works on practice-driven research, developing business models for horizontal collaboration in logistics and exploring how smart technologies can make cooperation between logistics firms realistic, trustworthy, and beneficial. What gives him energy is working with people across organisations, connecting different perspectives, and seeing a practical idea survive contact with reality.

Sunaryo obtained his Master’s degree in Transport and Environmental Economics from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. His research interest and focus are logistics, economics, and sustainability.

He implements Nyenrode’s mission and core values by doing research that is both responsible and useful. His personal mission at Nyenrode is to contribute to a sustainable future where a thriving society can operate within environmental limits. For him, that means every solution should consider people and planet alongside profit.

International activities

Sunaryo has been involved in international collaboration through U!REKA university partnerships, as well as EU and RVO-supported research collaborations, including ClimOp and the BrightSky Project. He is currently active in the TNO Future Proof Smart Logistics project.

Other interests

Outside work, Sunaryo enjoys hiking in spring and autumn, training at the gym during winter, and spending time at the beach in summer. He is also busy learning and practicing Dutch.
