Dr. Ries Breijer is Assistant Professor of Corporate Reporting at Nyenrode Business University. He is part of Nyenrode's Faculty Research Center for Corporate Reporting, Finance & Tax.

After finishing pre-university education, Ries started working in an audit firm and finalised the Nyenrode part-time (BSc- and MSc-) accountancy program. During the completion of his master's thesis, he was asked to start a full-time PhD at Nyenrode. He successfully completed this program with a dissertation titled 'Accountability and Responsibility: The Role of Corporate Reporting.'

Next to his current research about non-financial and financial reporting, Ries supervises master’s theses, is involved in the master courses ‘academic research in accountancy’ and ‘advanced research in accountancy’, and in the post-mast course ‘corporate reporting for auditors’.

Interests

Ries loves the water (windsurfing) and the mountains (mountain biking, skiing). He is also enthusiastic about old industrial designers of timeless furniture.
