He is also actively involved in the Entrepreneurs Weekend and the organization of the Leadership Conference.
As a Nyenrode alumnus, Berting understands the practical value of a Nyenrode education. He earned his BBA from Nyenrode in 1983 and later completed a master’s degree in Business Administration at Erasmus University Rotterdam. He brings over 25 years of international experience in commercial management across Europe and Asia, having held roles at leading IT companies such as Getronics, Exact Software, and Logica (consultancy). His career culminated in a Board of Directors position at Dun & Bradstreet (a Dow Jones-listed company) in the Benelux.
Since 2008, Berting has supported various start-ups and scale-ups through his own management company, helping them navigate and accelerate their growth. In addition, he teaches personal effectiveness and presentation skills at universities and colleges, working with both managers and young professionals. He has a particular interest in bridging generational differences, especially with Gen Z.
Drawing on his academic and professional background, Berting brings Nyenrode’s LES values—Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Stewardship—to life. He is passionate about developing talent and firmly believes that people achieve more when they focus on what they enjoy and excel at. He encourages participants to follow their heart, apply their academic knowledge (head), and translate this into meaningful action (hands). In his view, Nyenrode’s programs are uniquely positioned to support this integrated approach. He is committed to keeping these programs innovative and future-focused, with the goal of helping alumni realize their professional ambitions while contributing to a better society.
