Biography

f you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together - African proverb

Dr. Jeanine Jansen is an Assistant Professor at the Nyenrode Faculty Expertise Center for Strategy, Organization & Leadership. Her teaching and research—rooted in sociology, psychology, and philosophy—focus on group dynamics and a systemic perspective on leadership.

Jansen teaches in several executive education programs and in the module 'Leadership' of the MBA. She also serves as an action learning and peer-reflection coach across multiple programs. From 2016 to 2024, she was responsible for the Leadership Development Program.

She was trained in social dynamics at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and the Tavistock Institute, and in personal development at institutions including ITIP (Institute for Applied and Integral Psychology) and Phoenix Opleidingen. In 2024, Jansen completed her PhD in Organizational Change at Ashridge/Hult International Business School (UK). Her dissertation, Moments of Embodied Polyphony: Inquiring into the Mundane and the Mystery of Group Life, has been praised as “an exemplary and courageous contribution toward a more humane and reflective perspective on groups.” In her work, this perspective takes shape through exploring the multiple voices present in groups—both literally and metaphorically.

Since 2005, Jansen has gained extensive experience as an organizational advisor and facilitator, working with professionals and teams in the Netherlands and internationally on issues related to leadership, collaboration, and organizational change. In 2011, she founded Remember the Talent. She has been affiliated with Nyenrode Business University since 2013. Her clients include organizations such as the municipalities of Amsterdam and other cities, Adidas, AFM, ASML, A Beautiful Story (NGO), Danone, Deloitte, Dümmen Orange, KPN, Mama Cash (NGO), Oxfam Novib, PwC, Philips, and Air Traffic Control the Netherlands.

With energy and dedication, she brings to life her motto, “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” Participants appreciate her experiential and dynamic teaching style: rather than traditional lectures, she uses bold and engaging learning methods that leave a lasting impression. Jansen enjoys seeing participants leave campus with a head full of ideas, a bag full of practical tools, a healthy glow on their faces, and a sparkle in their eyes.

“I used to focus on developing knowledge to build effective ‘dream teams’ or ‘high-performing teams.’ Today, I advocate for cultivating greater wisdom—so we can stay awake and contribute meaningfully in the here and now of a group or system. For me, leadership is no longer primarily a function or role. It is first and foremost a relational process and a societal responsibility: how do we show leadership and shape it together for a better world?”

International activities

Jansen is a visiting lecturer and researcher at Stellenbosch Business School (South Africa).
