The sources of the data are the IMF, OECD, national governments, the Deutsche Bundesbank, the stock exchanges, and the company reports.
Examples of macro-economic data are: FDI, economic growth data and statistics of international private income.
Access to Datastream
Nyenrode students have access to two DataStream accounts. Use is by reservation only, which can be made by:
- Email: library@nyenrode.nl
- On your own device: Install DataStream Workspace via Teams on a Windows PC/laptop.
- On-campus in Breukelen: All public computers in the library building are equipped with DataStream and Teams. Access is available in person or via remote login through Teams.
- Amsterdam campus: A dedicated computer with DataStream and Teams is available in the campus library.
Note: The passwords for the DataStream accounts are managed by the library and are not shared with students. This prevents users from logging each other out.
For remote access, we will send a Teams meeting invitation to your Nyenrode email address for your reserved time slot. During the session, we will enter the password for you by taking over the screen.
Send an email to library@nyenrode.nl to make or cancel a reservation.
Instruction
On this link you’ll find free video courses for Workspace. The database itself is not accessible online. For a short overview, please visit our Canvas page: https://nyenrode.instructure.com/courses/513/modules.
As an alternative to Datastream, please take a look at other databases, such as Orbis or Zephyr. These are also available off-campus for students.
