The impact of digital technologies is all around us. Often, the impact we experience is positive, such as the smartphone and social media. In addition, technology offers more efficient ways to do business as well as new business opportunities. On the other side of the spectrum are more troubling developments, such as disintermediation and cybercrime. Therefore, it is imperative that business, organizations, and governments respond to the opportunities and threats digital technologies represent. How do you deal with developments outside of your own sphere of influence? What actions can you take? How do you respond in a timely and effective manner? In the module Digital Strategy and Transformation we provide you with the tools to answer these questions.

Leading digital strategy and transformation

To be a flexible organization that can capitalize on opportunities and is also able to neutralize threats, it is important to understand the drivers of digitalization and digital transformation and developing a sound strategy accordingly. In the module Digital Strategy and Transformation we provide you with the knowledge and skills necessary to take on a leading role in formulating and executing digital strategy. Through experienced facilitators and hands-on class work you will be made familiar with the concepts, theories and models that are directly applicable to your daily practice. Our aim is to help you become confident in taking leadership for digital strategy and transformation processes within within your organization. 

 

What are you going to do?

The module Digital Strategy and Transformation helps you develop the skills necessary to lead the digital strategy and transformation processes in your organization.  Through experienced facilitators and hands-on class work you will be made familiar with the concepts, theories, and models relevant to digital strategies. You will work together with your fellow participants on cases from your daily practice to make this knowledge applicable to your business.

This module is part of the Modular Executive MBA Business & IT and is characterized by international influences. The program consists of three blocks, which cover:

  • Building digital awareness – understanding big data, artificial intelligence, blockchain and digital platforms as digital business enablers.
  • Creating a foresight for one of four industries, creating strategy through back-casting, and developing scenarios to be able to test the robustness of your strategy options.
  • Creating a transformational mindset through the appreciation of the economic development of society, the impact of industrial revolutions on organizations and management, and  learning about  the ICT developments in China.

The Digital Strategy and Transformation module is part of the Modular Executive MBA in Business & IT but can be taken separately. Do you want to follow only this module? That is possible! After successful completion of the module you will receive a certificate. Do you want to follow more modules after this module or even go for a full MBA? That is also possible. To obtain your MBA title, you will follow six minimum modules, two specialization modules, the international study trip and the MBA thesis.

Admission and application

To be eligible for the module Digital Strategy and Transformation you need:

  • At least five years of strategic experience as a manager, executive, entrepreneur or in an otherwise influential position.
  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree or a demonstrable equivalent ability.
  • Good command of English.

Your investment for this module is € 7,145.-. This amount is exempt from VAT and includes access to all of Nyenrode's physical and virtual student facilities as well as food and drinks on course days. Hotel accommodations are not included in the price and can be booked separately.
