The Power of the New Board Program
The New Board Program covers all aspects of governance, or good corporate governance in the Netherlands and International. Effective leadership at board level is about much more than strategy, stakeholder focus, and managing organizational performance and risk. It also requires an understanding of boardroom dynamics, leadership, individual competencies, motivation, and personality.
It is important to know that this program is in Dutch, not in English.
Why the New Board Program?
Leading organizations in a complex and rapidly changing world requires more than strategic expertise alone. Geopolitical developments, technological innovation, societal expectations, and increasing stakeholder pressure place ever-higher demands on executives and board members. Today's leaders need insight into governance, sensitivity to boardroom dynamics, and the ability to connect people, interests, and societal challenges.
For more than twenty years, the New Board Program has been a leading program in governance, leadership, and boardroom dynamics. It supports current and aspiring board members in developing the insight, judgment, and personal effectiveness needed to operate confidently and successfully in complex governance and stakeholder environments in the Netherlands and abroad.

The program brings together the perspectives of executives, supervisory board members, and stakeholders in a single learning uenvironment. Through a combination of academic depth, practical experience, peer learning, and international perspectives, participants develop a broad and contemporary view of effective governance.

During the program, you will develop the knowledge, judgment, and personal effectiveness required to succeed as a board member or executive leader.

Theory and Practice in Every Module
The program consists of seven modules spread over 13 months (six two-day modules held at the Nyenrode estate and one international (three-day) module at HEC Paris.
Each module follows three phases:
- Preparation
- Deepening Knowledge through lectures and dialogue with professors, guest speakers and peers, as well as through discussion of real-life cases
- Application to Practice, including reflection and concrete next steps for your own boardroom context

During the New Board Program inspiring speakers and experienced board members share their vision and perspectives on governance and boardroom challenges. Peer learning and ongoing dialogue with Nyenrode faculty members and prominent executives and supervisory board members form the core of the program.

Step 1 – Registration:

Step 2 – Intake Interview:
- A personal intake interview with the Program Manager is always part of the application process. During this conversation, we assess whether there is a good match between your learning objectives and the content of the program.
- Do you have any additional questions about the program? Our Program Manager will be happy to answer them during a personal consultation. Upon successful completion of the New Board Program, participants will receive the New Board Program Certificate.

What is the Investment?
The investment for the New Board Program is €29,950 (excluding VAT) and includes:
- Six modules (each consisting of two consecutive days) at Nyenrode Estate
- An international module in Paris (including hotel accommodation and catering*)

- A Nyenrode Business University Certificate

The accommodation costs (hotel accommodation and catering) during the six modules at Nyenrode are charged separately and form an integral part of the program.
The accommodation costs amount to €2,500 for the entire program. * Travel expenses to and from the location of the international module (within Europe) are at your own expense.
