Finishing your journey in the Netherlands

As your time in the Netherlands comes to an end, there are a few important administrative steps to take before you leave. From deregistering with your municipality to managing your bank account, health insurance and residence permit, this guide will help you complete the necessary arrangements smoothly and avoid any unexpected issues after your departure

When you leave the Netherlands, please make sure to take the following actions:

  • Deregister from the municipality where you have registered
  • Inform your program management team
  • Close your bank account (only if you leave permanently)
  • Cancel your Dutch health insurance (if applicable)
