Castle Nijenrode is the calling card of Nyenrode Business University and one of the most iconic landmarks in the Vecht region. It is a symbol to which not only students and alumni feel deeply connected, but also the entire local community. It is cultural and historical heritage that must be preserved for generations to come.

In 2025, the Castle will celebrate its 750th anniversary. That same year also marks 75 years of the Castle being owned by the Nyenrode Foundation. Throughout all these years, the Castle has played a crucial role in the experience of our students and alumni. It represents shared memories and has contributed to the formative years in which many experienced personal and professional growth. That, too, is something we must preserve!

The heart of Nyenrode needs your support
For many alumni, the Castle was the beating heart of their student days. Lifelong friendships were formed here; they were shaped as individuals, and found inspiration in lectures and conversations in the Kelderbar. This Castle is Nyenrode — a symbol of memories, growth, and connection.

But our Castle is suffering. The passage of time has left deep marks: the foundation is sinking, cracks are spreading through the walls, and parts of the building are becoming unusable. If we don’t act now, we risk losing this unique place forever.

Immediate action is needed. The following restorations are urgent:

• Reinforcement of the foundation

• Restoration of the quay wall

• Renovation of the clock tower
