We live on the eve of a societal revolution. 

Prof Dr Bob de Wit is Professor of Strategic Leadership at Nyenrode’s Center of Strategy, Organization & Leadership. His main research topic is the transformation of companies, industries and societies, as the consequence of many digital technologies, biotechnology and sustainable energy solutions. Bob is a globally recognized inspirational speaker, delivering presentations and key note addresses to large audiences. He aims at preparing private and public leaders for the economic and societal revolution in the years ahead.

Bob has (co-)authored 20 books and many articles, book chapters, cases and teaching notes in the area of strategic management. Editions of his books Strategy: An international perspective and Strategy Synthesis (1994, 1998, 2005, 2010, 2014, 2017) are being adopted by universities and business schools in over 70 countries across the globe. The seventh edition is planned to be published in spring 2020. Bob’s books are being categorized as the ‘paradox school of thought in strategy’.

Bob de Wit holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Utrecht University, a Master’s degree from IIB Delft, and a PhD degree in Management Science from Erasmus University Rotterdam. From 1986 to 1996, he was a professor in strategic management at the Rotterdam School of Management, and from 1996 to 2012 Bob was Professor of Strategy and Associate Dean for Research at the Maastricht School of Management. He is a member of the Advisory Board of the Journal of Change Management, a member of the Strategic Management Society Review Board, and a member of the Academic Council of the Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées in Paris.

Secondary positions

Bob de Wit is the founder (1998) of Strategy Works, a strategy consulting firm, and Strategy Academy that designs and delivers in-company (Digital) Leadership Programs.

He has been a member of the Rotterdam Economic Board and member of the International Advisory Board Rotterdam. From 2003 until 2009 he has been the Chairman of the Dutch Society for Strategic Management (VSB).

International activities

Bob has been teaching in over 50 countries at all continents. His teaching focuses on C-level executives and non-executive board members, in courses such as Executive MBA, General Management Program and Strategic Leadership Program, and in a variety of dedicated executive teaching programs. He has received numerous teaching awards at Nyenrode Business University, Maastricht University and the Rotterdam School of Management.
