Biography
Drs. Johan van Luttikhuizen RE RA is a Lecturer at Nyenrode Business University.
Van Luttikhuizen teaches courses in external reporting and supervises master's theses, external internship students, and professional practice placements. He is also actively involved in a variety of educational initiatives and projects that align with his expertise, experience, and interests. What motivates him most is working with students and supporting their development into well-rounded professionals. He values the opportunity to connect practical experience with academic learning and to prepare students for the challenges they will encounter throughout their careers.
With more than forty years of professional experience, Van Luttikhuizen has gained insights into the accounting profession from virtually every perspective. This broad background forms the foundation of his teaching and enables him to continuously bridge the gap between theory and practice. In addition, he has been teaching for more than twenty-five years, giving him a deep understanding of the professional and personal development of students and young accountants.
The combination of extensive practical experience and many years in education has given Van Luttikhuizen a pragmatic perspective on the accounting profession. He enjoys sharing his knowledge with students and engaging in discussions about the developments, challenges, and opportunities that shape the field.
Van Luttikhuizen contributes to Nyenrode’s mission and core values by preparing students for professional practice and encouraging them to develop into critical, responsible professionals. His personal mission is to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and mindset needed to succeed in the profession, enabling the next generation of accountants to shape the field not only differently, but better.
