Master of Science in Management (full-time)

Admission and application

The Master of Science in Management is designed for young professionals with limited work experience.

Please check below if you meet the requirements for admission to this course:

  • Bachelor's degree (in any subject).
  • High school level knowledge of Math and English (CERF B2).
  • Taking the admission exam (GMAT, GRE or LTP Nyenrode Admission test).
  • Proof of English Language proficiency (TOEFL, IELTS or similar).

 

Direct admission without pre-master

These degrees allow you direct access to the master phase of the program; without completing our pre-master:

  • Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (or equivalent to Dutch university degree)
  • Master of Science in Business
  • Master of Science in Management
However, you will still need to go through the application process. We will contact you after receiving your application form.

 

The admission process

Have you met our requirements? Then admission takes place in three steps:

  1. Application: You send us your application form. On this, you indicate your preferred location; Breukelen or Amsterdam (please note that Amsterdam has a limit of 50 places).
  2. Assessment: We assess your application and may invite you for an interview.
  3. Admission: We inform you whether you have been admitted as soon as we can.

Application deadlines

  • Early Bird deadline: February 25, 2018 (€ 2,000 discount on the tuition fee of the Master phase)
  • Second Application Deadline: April 1st, 2018

    Non-EU students: June 15, 2018
          EU students: July 15, 2018

What are you going to do?

Our Master of Science in Management is flexible in its design. You choose the program best suited to the subjects you want to excel at. You also choose your location: Breukelen or Amsterdam.
Note: you always take the classes of your track solely in Breukelen. The general classes and the pre-master classes take place at your preferred location.

Breukelen or Amsterdam

If you select Breukelen, you choose our close-knit campus community and to be an active member of the NCV (Student Association). If you decide on Amsterdam, your classes are in Amsterdam's historic city center and you will be joined by students from all over the world. There is also the possibility to live on our Diemen Zuid Campus near the city. There is a limited number of places at our Amsterdam location.

Pre-master

The pre-master phase lasts a maximum of four months. You only take the classes needed. If you have a college (non-university) bachelor's degree, you follow the complete pre-master program. During the pre-master phase you have classes in these four fields:

  • Academic Skills
  • Organizational Behavior & Leadership Development
  • Marketing Strategy & Customer Behavior
  • Finance

If you are a student at Amsterdam's Vrije Universiteit Medical Centre, you may arrange your pre-master as a minor Leadership in Health Care.

Master

The master phase lasts twelve months. You will have classes in these subjects:

  • Management Science
  • Global Strategy & International Trade
  • Digitization in Business & Society
  • Operations & Supply Chain Management

Select from three tracks

You choose one of these tracks during your master:

  • Global Strategies & Sustainability
  • Digital Business & Innovation
  • Financial Management

Nyenrode Traineeship

Part of your master is the Nyenrode Traineeship. During the four months of this traineeship, you apply your new found academic knowledge in a Company Project, and take part in an intensive Personal Leadership Development Journey, with workshops on Leadership, Entrepreneurship and Stewardship. You will also be trained in consultancy skills.

Global Immersion Program

To broaden your international experience, you take part in the Global Immersion Program. You will join one of our partner universities abroad for a one-week module.

Elective courses

Electives allow you to adapt the program to suit your personal needs. You choose two of the many subjects on offer, such as Sports Leadership, International Business & Diplomacy, Business Law or Sustainability & Ethics.

What are the costs?

From August 2018 the costs for the Master of Science in Management are as follows:

  • Regular Master: € 21,000 (maximum)
  • Pre-master: € 7,500 (maximum)
  • Housing: between € 350 and € 550 per month
  • Application fee: € 100 (no fee when applying before 15 April)

You may request payment in two or three terms.

We also provide a € 2,000 early bird discount. This means that early applicants only pay € 19,000 for their master's!

Tax deductions and loans

We advise you to deduct your schooling fees from your taxes. This is possible for most Dutch tax payers. Check with your tax consultant or your local Tax Office.

If you want to secure a loan to fund your master's, we advise you to speak to one or more banks.

Scholarships

There are three ways you can try to secure a scholarship with Nyenrode:

  • Business Games: Participating in a Business Game can land you a € 15,500 or € 21,000 scholarship.
  • Orange Tulip Scholarship: For students from Brazil, China, Indonesia, Mexico, Russia, South-Korea and Vietnam. Scholarships range from € 15,500 to € 21,000.
  • Nyenrode Fund Foundation (SNF): This fund provides a limited number of scholarships to support students financially.

What will you get out of it?

Your career takes off as soon as you start your Master of Science in Management with us. A few facts and figures:

  • 90% of our graduates find a job within four months.
  • Their starting salary averages € 34K.
  • Their wages after 18 months are up to € 50K. (Figures are estimates based on our MSc graduates of the last ten years.)
  • Their prevailing employers are PwC, ABN AMRO, ING, Heineken, and Unilever.
  • 20% of our graduates start their own business.
  • Of our students who have funded their master with a loan, 57% is debt-free after three to five years.

Master of Science in Management at Nyenrode

A master's degree in management from Nyenrode enables you to start your career in the Netherlands, if you wish.
