Biography
Prof. Dr. Cokky Hilhorst is Professor of Information Systems at the Accounting, Auditing & Control center of expertise. In her work, she combines insights from various academic disciplines, such as economics, AI, computer science and information management. Hilhorst combines knowledge of the digitization of organizations with knowledge of software systems and their applications. She lectures on topics such as IT investments, AI, decision-making and risk, data and digital transformation.
Hilhorst studied Artificial Intelligence at Utrecht University and specialized in theoretical computer science. She holds an MSc in Information Management from TIAS Business School and earned a PhD from Tilburg University's Faculty of Economics and Management. Her dissertation was awarded the Prof. Dr. Aart Bosman Dissertation Prize for the best dissertation in Information Systems 2011 in the Benelux. Her work has been published in Decision Support Systems, European Journal of Information Systems, Information & Management, Government Information Quarterly and Health.
Hilhorst is dean of the Faculty of Technology, Policy and Management at Delft University of Technology. In addition to her work at Nyenrode, she is a member of the supervisory boards of ProRail and Grant Thornton. Prior to that, she worked for many years as Director of Technology at PwC.
