Biography
Dieter Smeulders is Associate Professor for the Center of Corporate Reporting & Tax. He is passionate about research in a number of areas, ranging from management accounting and governance to risk reporting. He teaches advanced accounting and management accounting courses.
Smeulders got his PhD in 2019 from the KU Leuven. Since then, he held various positions at Open Universiteit, KU Leuven and the University of Bern before coming to work for Nyenrode.
Smeulders believes that developing responsible leaders requires a scientific mindset. Wanting to do the right thing is only the beginning; determining what the right thing actually is requires critical thinking and the systematic collection and analysis of information. He aims to develop and teach knowledge that supports this.
