Biography

Fostering the art & science dialogue on financing entrepreneurial ventures

Dr. Job J. Andreoli is Associate Professor of Finance, with a sweet spot for Entrepreneurial Finance, and and leads the Nyenrode Incubator in Amsterdam. He is part of Nyenrode's Faculty Research Center for Corporate Reporting, Finance & Tax.

Entrepreneur turned academic, now engaged Associate Professor of Finance, known for his ability to connect ‘the art and science’ of finance in class. His research particularly addresses topics pertaining to venture capital and early-stage investments stimulating innovation. Early-on in his academic career, Job co-authored with Luisa Alemany (London Business School) "Entrepreneurial Finance: The Art and Science of Growing Ventures" (Cambridge University Press, 2018), with contributors from Bocconi, Cambridge, EC/Startup Europe, EIF, Erasmus/RSM, ESADE, EVPA, Glasgow, HSG, IMD, Imperial, INSEAD, St.Gallen, Vlerick, WHU. The book was adopted by more than 100 universities and business schools throughout Europe, won the Textbook & Academic Author (TAA) award (2021), with Chinese edition (Oriental Publishing Center & Cambridge University Press, 2023) and Latam edition in Spanish (2025), and has a 2nd edition that also addresses the Middle East (2026).

Andreoli teaches courses on finance, private equity, strategy and business planning, and is known to actively pursuing how practice and academia (or ‘art and science’) elevate each other. In addition to Nyenrode, Job is member of the editorial board of Venture Capital, serves on the advisory board of a venture capital firm and participates in the research team of an online venture valuator.

Prior to this academic involvement, he worked as a strategy consultant for Ernst & Young (EY) and Capgemini and was responsible for setting up the Strategy & Innovation practice of Atos in the Benelux. Thereafter he founded various startups (e.g. retail marketplace, sourcing platform, and private school) and supported small and medium-sized companies that tend towards financial distress. Throughout his professional engagements, Job actively seeks to collaborate to jointly gain traction and is energized by internationally oriented teams and innovative entrepreneurial initiatives.

Andreoli holds a PhD in Finance from Nyenrode Business University, an MSc in Strategic Management from the Rotterdam School of Management at Erasmus University and an MSc in Education from VU University, Amsterdam. In addition, he studied at the Asian Institute of Management (the Philippines) and obtained the Certified in Financial Management (CFM) accreditation from the Institute of Management Accountants (US).

Interests

In his spare time, Andreoli enjoys various sports, including field hockey, tennis, golf, boxing and (telemark) skiing.
