Richard Janssen joined the Strategy Center of Nyenrode Business Universiteit as a lecturer Dynamics of Strategy in the beginning of 2008. He teaches topics centered around competitive landscapes, dealing with uncertainty and creating strategic insight. He brings practical value to the courses by discussing several case studies and coordinating business simulations and games. In addition, he is coordinator of the powerhouse Moments of Truth. The powerhouse does research and education around strategic decision making in complex industries.
His teaching, research and consulting interests are in the field of dynamics of strategy, specifically in firms entering a complex and uncertain (online) environment. Richard supervises MSc and MBA students in these key-areas. He studied Business Administration at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and holds a master degree with specialization in strategy and e-business. Richard started his career at a venture capital/corporate finance firm.
Prior to this job Richard worked at Telegraaf Media Nederland. He most recently served as Manager Strategy & Business Development, managing a team of analysts and project managers. Before managing this team, he established two new departments in different fields (sales and strategy) and coordinated several product development and strategy execution programs within the media-industry. During this period he started coaching online start-ups in the portfolio of a Dutch investment firm.
In addition to his activities for Nyenrode, Richard is CEO and founder of a small consulting firm 4D Radar.
