Strategy, Organization & Leadership

Our mission

Nyenrode's Center for Strategy, Organization & Leadership aims to provide future leaders and managers with strategic knowledge and knowhow, so they can be of added value to their organization.

In the center we work closely with the business community. We focus on tech-driven academic education and research, allowing our students to gain strategic insights and the ability to set up optimum business architectures and strategies, using their leadership skills.

Our activities

Professors from within our faculty support PhD students and their research projects – individually and with accountability to the dean. We also develop and execute a number of programs, the most important being:

  • Corporate Governance for Top Leaders' Secretaries
  • Strategic Leadership Program
  • Your Leadership Development Program – YMP

Our research

Most of Nyenrode's Center for Strategy, Organization & Leadership
publications and research revolve around at international affairs, and we do not apply standard research methods. This forces our researchers to consistently and continuously defend their methods.

Changing to a more sustainable or more social organization means changing existing patterns. And to be able to do so, you need to address three challenges: giving meaning to what you want to do, learning how to do it, and creating space to eliminate resistance. This is according to research conducted by Irene Jonkers, who is receiving her PhD at Nyenrode Business University today. 'If you understand the three challenges, the process becomes more manageable and also more fun,' Jonkers said.
