Nyenrode Business Universiteit Amsterdam is situated within the iconic building 'De Vijf Keizers' on the Keizersgracht. The Keizersgracht (Emperor’s Canal) is the middle one of the three main Amsterdam canals and was named after Emperor Maximilian of Austria. The Keizersgracht is the widest canal in the inner city of Amsterdam.
The Vijf Keizers was originally the home of the Dutch Credit Insurance Company, which expanded into the five adjacent buildings, making it one connected block. The façade of the buildings has national monument status.
Nowadays, the complex is home to Nyenrode Business Universiteit Amsterdam, as well as the Nyenrode Incubator and companies like Travelbird, KidsII, Farm Brothers and more.
