Damien Broekharst MSc, is researcher at Nyenrode Business Universiteit. He is part of Nyenrode's Faculty Research Center for Marketing & Supply Chain Management. In this position as researcher, he is concerned with improving the way health economic evaluations are conducted in both policy and clinical contexts. For that purpose, in addition to the financial perspective on medical interventions, he also integrates the patient perspective into health economic evaluations in a meaningful manner. By taking on this task, he contributes not only to a better allocation of the scarce healthcare resources, but also to patient empowerment and emancipation. He is proud and grateful to be able to carry out this important task and contribute to an ethical approach to human life and a holistic approach to health and well-being.
Broekharst holds a Bachelor and Master’s degree in Public Administration as well as a Master’s degree in Healthcare Management. He obtained the Bachelor and both Masters at Erasmus University Rotterdam. After graduation, he started working as a researcher and lecturer at various scientific institutions. He was involved in various research projects, for instance in the fields of medical technology and public health programs. In this capacity, he has worked with a variety of social partners (e.g., municipalities), medical partners (e.g., hospitals), and pharmaceutical partners (e.g., drug manufacturers).
Interests
Broekharst collects antiques and enjoys playing sports in his spare time. In addition, he enjoys studying history.
