Degree education in corona times
In mid-March 2020, the Netherlands went into lockdown, and in-person meetings at our locations were no longer allowed. Most students living on campus in Breukelen went home to their parents, while the campus in Amsterdam was completely shut down.
Nyenrode wanted to prevent students from falling behind in their studies, so we had to take measures for students to attend lectures from home and take their exams remotely. A huge operation was set in motion to allow this to happen in a very short period of time. PhD and other graduations had to be adapted to the new reality and international study trips and other international visits had to be cancelled. Moreover, our information meetings for potential students had to be transformed to a digital setting.
