Are you someone with a keen interest in personal development and reflection? Are you able to ask incisive questions and make others feel heard? Are you great at creating structure and help students come up with a concrete study plan? This might be the job for you!

The Role 

Your main job is to ensure that students have a good study experience and make good academic progress. You advise students on how best to plan their studies and provide them with the necessary tools to study as efficiently and effectively as possible. The campus (Breukelen & Amsterdam) life can be quite intense sometimes and students look to you for support and guidance. You help students find a good balance between studying and student life, are their go-to person to discuss personal issues and help them navigate the day to day experiences of student life at Nyenrode. In short, you are their point of contact when it comes to student counseling on a personal as well as academic level. From an academic perspective, you monitor their study experience by critically examining study planning, procedures, regulations, and policy issues. You are an important sparring partner for management and for the Examination Board. For casuistry, you provide advice to the Examination Board independent of program management, confidentially and from your expertise. Of course, you also take care of the administrative processing of the above. In this position, you collaborate closely with the study coaches of the other management degree programs. Together with the other study coaches, you organize workshops on effective and efficient studying for all students.

Working at Nyenrode means working on a wooded 13th-century estate with a castle in Breukelen. We also have a location on the Keizersgracht in the historic center of Amsterdam.

For this position, your main location will be in Breukelen, but you will also serve students in Amsterdam occasionally.

Who are you?

  • You work and think at a higher education/university level. You have completed a coaching training program and preferably have experience coaching students (or a similar target group).  

  • You have a coaching degree or are open to getting one.

  • You have an open attitude, listening ear, and are a tactful communicator. You are good at motivating and inspiring others and are also able to hold people to agreements made and remind them of their own responsibilities.

  • You are comfortable presenting to a group and enjoy giving workshops.

  • You are flexible and proactive, and you like to get things done.

  • You have excellent command of the Dutch and English language, as you will also be responsible for our English-speaking students.

  • We offer a gross salary of maximum € 5.151,- depending on your background and work experience, in the case of full-time employment (Scale 10).

  • Fixed 5,1 % end of year bonus.

  • Flexible end of year bonus, up to 4,5%.

  • 36 days off (with the option of five more).

  • € 850 to be spent with Coolblue (online shop) to facilitate a home office.

  • Reimbursements for internet, gym, working from home, travel allowance, etc.

  • The pension scheme is through ABP.
