“We’ll see you tomorrow for the start of the assignment in London.” With these surprising words, Dr. Frank van Eekeren, lecturer in the Nyenrode Sports Leadership Program, concluded his lecture in Breukelen last Monday and gave the participants their first assignment. At 8:00 the next morning, the participants were standing at the Olympic London Stadium in Stratford to begin working on their case study.

On October 20th, students from Nyenrode Business Universiteit marked the university’s arrival in Amsterdam by sounding the gong to open the trading day at the AEX. They were accompanied by Jessica Peters-Hondelink, location director of Nyenrode Amsterdam.

On October 2nd, India celebrates the 146th birthday of its great leader Mahatma Gandhi, a champion of India’s independence after the second world war. Although the culture of India is very different from that of the Netherlands, in his policy we can nonetheless find important fundamental values that are familiar to Nyenrodians as well.

Ruud Huirne has been appointed new core lecturer for the Global Food Economy module, part of the Modular MBA in Food & Innovation. Program director Henk Kievit is pleased about the appointment: “We are proud that Ruud Huirne is core lecturer for this module. With his broad background, experience and vision, he brings a great deal that participants can learn from.” Huirne is director Food & Agri at Rabobank and is convinced that the Netherlands can play an important role in the global food economy.

When it comes to the business sector, digital transformation is not just a choice, but rather a necessity. That is what Dr. Ir. Wolter Lemstra reiterates, the core professor of Digital Strategy and Transformation – a course of the Modular Executive MBA in Business & IT. Lemstra: “At one point or another, every organization will have to face digital transformation. So the best approach is to be adequately prepared.”
